The Bihar State Power Corporation has issued a notice to disconnect power supply to the memorial of revolutionary freedom fighters Khudiram Bose and Prafulla Chaki in Muzaffarpur, sparking a controversy.
The development comes at a time when the country is celebrating 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', an initiative by the Center to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd served a notice to the Bose and Chaki memorial on February 15.
Asking 'Smarak Asthan' to pay the outstanding electricity bill of Rs 1.36 lakh within seven days or face disconnection, the official said.
